At Maldon Court Preparatory School, Science is taught mainly through topic based learning.

There is a detailed subject plan from Reception to Year 6 to ensure that the programmes of study for Science are fully addressed.

There is a specialist Science teacher who teaches Yr 4 - 6 three times a week

Each year the children will work on these themes:

Life and Living Processes,

• Materials and their Properties,
• Physical Processes and Experimental and Investigational Science.

Children will be encouraged to learn the skills and processes of science, to ask questions, communicate and share ideas and to understand scientific concepts.
