Nursery Manager / EYFS COORDINATOR


This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Nursery Manager to lead an ‘Outstanding’ (Ofsted 2017 and ISI 2017) independent nursery for 1-3 year olds.

Our newly built nursery opened in September 2014 and is integrated as part of Maldon Court Preparatory School. The successful candidate will start in November 2017 after an induction with the existing Nursery Manager. The position will be full time, term time only,  8-5pm, to start 6th November.

This is a chance to join a highly experienced and professional team with the aim of maintaining an Outstanding early years setting for our children. The successful candidate will be passionate about working in childcare, leading and supporting a team and someone who relishes the challenge of being part of the team, continuing the shared vision for the nursery.

As the  EYFS Coordinator and Nursery Manager, the successful candidate will be instrumental in the design of the curriculum, with a focus on play-based learning in a nurturing environment centred on exploration, social interaction and development of skills. The successful candidate will also be instrumental in admissions and ongoing staff training.

Whilst managing the setting, the candidate must be a strong leader and communicator with excellent knowledge of EYFS, welfare requirements and also have an understanding of the complexities of early years’ education.

Knowledge of nursery management to include budgeting and funding is essential and previous experience of managing a new setting would be advantageous. A level 3 early years qualification (NNEB, NVQ3, BTEC or equivalent) is essential. NVQ level six and or at least one years’ experience of managing a nursery would be a distinct advantage.

Actual salary range after adjusting for term-time only working: £24000-£31000 dependent on experience.

SCHOOL COOK AND ASSISTANT COOK

Two vacancies have arisen in our school kitchen for both a cook and assistant cook. Our school cooks play in a vital role in the smooth running of our school. They are responsible for preparing the lunches of over 140 children on a daily basis. 

The cook is responsible for designing our menu with an emphasis on fresh locally sourced ingredients. The cook orders supplies and prepares then serves the meals on a daily basis. The cook is responsible for managing all elements of the kitchen including maintaining our 5 star food hygiene rating and ensuring special dietary requirements and safeguarding protocols are meticulously followed. The school cook needs to be exceptionally organised and willing to work as a senior member in our lunchtime team. 

The assistant cook will support the cook in this role and is responsible for preparing serving and clearing way every lunchtime under the direction of the cook.

Pay is competitive and based upon experience. Both positions are part time, typically 9am-1.30pm Monday to Friday and term time only (36 weeks a year).
