Maldon Court Preparatory School is a small, friendly, independent school located in the centre of Maldon. Rated as ‘Excellent’ by the Independent School’s Inspectorate and ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted, our school sets and maintains the highest standards for all our pupils and staff. Our highly successful school is looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic Office Manager to join our school on a permanent basis.

Working closely with the Headteacher and Bursar and with supervisory responsibilities for the school’s administration assistant you will be responsible for ensuring the administration of the school office is of the highest standards.

You will be communicating with pupils, parents, staff and visitors on a daily basis and so we are looking for an individual with excellent communication and organisational skills. You will be expected to share the school’s dedication to safeguard our pupils and be committed to maintaining confidentiality. You must have excellent IT skills and a willingness to use your initiative and strive for best practice.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To present a professional and welcoming manner to all school visitors

  • To be responsible for the efficient running of the school office and delegate tasks to staff as appropriate

  • Be responsible for the work, training and development of the school office staff

  • Be responsible for all correspondence with parents

  • Working with the Head Teacher and Bursar, be responsible for staff related administration

  • Be responsible for ensuring pupil data is entered accurately and ensuring our records are kept up to date, confidential and compliant with statutory guidance

  • Working with the Bursar you will oversee the financial and logistical organisation of school trips and chargeable extracurricular activities

  • Use your initiative and management skills to deal quickly and calmly with any unforeseen circumstances

  • Our school is open to pupils for 35 weeks of the year, the successful candidate will be working 39 weeks of the year with the benefit of not working during Essex County state school holidays.
