Nursery (ages 1-3)
The strong family ethos that runs through our school extends to our nursery where we provide a happy and nurturing environment for our children. We offer a spacious, enriching and inclusive environment within the grounds of Maldon Court Preparatory School in an independent building, whilst still remaining very much part of the school community.
Our bright and cheerful, independent School Nursery is always buzzing with purposeful activity, as the youngest children discover that learning is fun and school is a happy place to be. Our Nursery is about providing the youngest members of our school with an early education, we provide so much more than childcare.
The Nursery provides a safe, welcoming and nurturing environment where children can learn and explore through play. Our youngest learners engage in sensory and hands-on experiences, discovering textures, sounds, colours and simple patterns, exploring movement and coordination, and developing early language through songs, rhymes, and naming everyday objects. Alongside play, we introduce simple counting and object recognition with opportunities to explore cause and effect, supporting curiosity and early development in a fun, age-appropriate way.
As children grow, we build on these experiences with playful activities that introduce shapes, numbers, colours, and phonics, helping older toddlers develop new skills while continuing to learn through imagination, games, role play, and cooperative activities. Throughout, every child is nurtured and supported, forming confidence, coordination, social skills, and friendships in a warm and caring environment.
““The nursery is a happy, calm and safe environment where my child has flourished, he loves every minute he is there. We are really looking forward to the next few months he has within nursery before he moves on to Pre Reception. I know it will be hard for him to leave you.””
