Pre-Reception (ages 3-4)
Pre-Reception is the next stage of your child's education following on from their nursery years. Our Pre-Reception nurtures and fully prepares your child for entry into Reception. Practical activities enhance the children’s growing ability to make sense of the world through exploration, experimentation, observation, and discussion.
As the children grow in confidence and independence, creative and physical play are seamlessly interwoven with more structured learning. The emphasis in these years is on all-round development and the ‘paired and shared’ key worker system reinforces relationships between children, parents and staff. We use the EYFS framework birth to 5 years and our planning reflects the goals set out in this framework.
Every child in our Pre-Reception provision benefits from our excellent staff to child ratio, experienced and caring staff and an exciting and and secure learning environment located within the Prep School building.
The children leave our Pre-Reception as confident and developed learners, fully prepared for full time education as they transition into Reception class.
