The Maldon Court Rugby Team are flying high after an outstanding performance at the Maldon District Tag Rugby Tournament. The children performed superbly, working hard as a team and displaying a genuine understanding of the tactics and rules of the game. This was combined with skill, fitness, determination and teamwork through six tough games. The teams we came up against were worthy opponents and were all well prepared, making them tough to beat. Maldon Court won their matches against Maldon Primary, Tollesbury, Woodham Walter and Heybridge, earning our place in the final. There were audible gasps from the spectators at some of the children’s smooth and disciplined try scoring. We met with Great Totham in the final and were narrowly beaten by an exceptional team. It is amazing how far the Maldon Court Rugby Team has come since September. To get to the final of a tournament like this requires outstanding levels of skill and teamwork. We are so proud of the team, who displayed the highest levels of sportsmanship throughout the tournament. Well done Maldon Court and a huge thank you to the parents who came along to support us.
